Only person on in games, I think I handled it pretty well. There was at least one request every 5 minutes for a games advisor.. At one point, I was juggling 3 of them simultaneously ~_~ lol. It was alright though, having something to do. More happened at work, but my little poem in the post below this pretty much dictates what happened.

This may sound a little gay, but I'm really glad to have Damo as my superior. He is definitely the most reliable and helpful person I've ever met in a work environment. Also great to chat with. He generally makes my life at JB a lot better than it could be. I kinda feel bad always calling him for help when he isn't in the store... I know he has a life outside of it, but the fact that he won't even give a second thought to helping me out just shows what a great guy he is. So big kudos to him x]

Anyway. I think I'm gonna get myself a piano/keyboard teacher. It's hard to teach myself without knowing 90% of the stuff I'm meant to know and understand =.=..

I'm thinking of moving out of home soon. First home buyers' grant will get me started easily... Things at home are getting too tense. I know it's expensive to live alone, but I think it would be a fair trade off to escape and be able to do things as I want to. Haven't blogged for 4 days. I had to get some stuff out of the way.

Firstly, Saturday evening I ended up goin down to the Foundry again with my workmates. It was a lot more chillax than last week... However, it had quite a few awkward silences.. lol. I'd attribute it to the fact that we were all just knackered, but eh.

Did absolutely nothing on Sunday but rest, as my days off usually go :P

Monday was great. The 2nd-in-charge at JB Carousel approached me. At first I thought I was in trouble, then he says "HI FIVE ALEX!". So, I hi-fived him, despite being really confused. Then he told me why he was so happy. Not only did JB Carousel Games' Section become the #1 in WA, it was ranked in the top 10 of all of the Australian stores, after just one week! Taking into account that Perth's population is half of where the other, bigger, east-side JB Hi-Fi stores are located, and the fact that we only really have 2.5 people in that section... 1.5 of which have very little experience. I mean, I had one week's experience at JB Cannington. And that was after being thrown in the deep end! zzzzzzzzzzzz.

Hockay. So. A week ago I bought myself a keyboard piano. I didn't want to mention it here for specific reasons until today, but here it is x]. I have no experience whatsoever. Zero. Nada. Zilch. Nothing. I've tried teaching myself how to play. I gotta admit, I'm not terrible. I'm trying to play some songs by ear. I can only do them one key at a time so far... Attempting to press multiple keys for a better sound. I'll have to see how I go :P. Maybe I'll get a proper teacher for it. I'm really keen on learning >< So far.. All I can play that's worth listening to is "To Zanarkand - Nobuo Uematsu". Annnnnnnnd it's a terribad newbie version of it. It sounds alright though, so I'll just keep on going until I can become better :D

Also, Happy Birthday Hannah x]

Reminiscing

I attended my brother's graduation this evening. It brought back a lot of memories, seeing the ceremony, the slides with all the pictures of the year group.. It made me think of the time when I was back at school. I missed it. But I don't know what it is I missed.. You know.. After the ceremony, there was a gathering thing at the gym. I saw a few people from my grade in high school and it made me realise that I never really fit in. My friend groups were limited. Maybe it was more my initiative to walk over and chat to them, but it wouldn't have been a natural "hey! how ya going?". I saw Toby and had a short chat to him which was cool.. But yeah. There were quite a few others and I couldn't find it in me to go and say hi. Maybe I'm just being unsociable.. To be quite honest, if there were a 10 year or 20 year graduation, I don't think I'd be missed if I didn't turn up.

Work was quietish today. Mostly just emptying all our games. Rhys dropped by and Damo gave me 10mins extra lunch. Def a legend. Was good to catch up with Rhys for a bit. The Australia's Top Model auditions were going on outside JB. I'm gonna sound like a total asshole and hypocrite (because I'm not attractive) when I say this... But a lot of the attendees were delusional. They may have been good, above average, or even average (and some below average) looking, but not model material. Yes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. However, auditioning for something like that is like saying "I think I'm hot enough to get a job in this business". Therefore, you open yourself up to criticism, hence my comments x]

Also, my brother's friend / ex-gf got accepted to the next round of the show or w/e. Congrats to her.

Some important decisions coming up... Got into work. Two hours were pretty quiet. Third hour in, Damo comes in and tells me some freakin' awesome news! In just one week, JB Hi-Fi Carousel has become the top selling store for Western Australia. /flex. Absolutely stoked about that. Pretty much means I have to bring my A-game every time I walk into that store with the badge around my neck. Not long after, some kids stole a phone charger for the car. Seriously... There are way too many thieves in Carousel. No wonder why it's such a hole everywhere else around the center -.-

In comparison:
JB Hi-Fi Carousel. Open: 1 week ____ Items Stolen: 14+
JB Hi-Fi Cockburn. Open: 1 month____ Items Stolen: 1

Ridiculous... So, now my manager (Damo) has had enough and we're basically gonna end up gutting every single one of our 1000+ games because of these delinquent punks. My only wish is that I would have been able to catch one of the little shits in the act and get them a criminal record for stealing a $20 game. Sweet, sweet vengeance that would have been. And some idiot actually stole a $4 screen cleaner for the DS... It's a sad, sad day when you start having to put security tape onto items that retail for $4.

Work was really hectic today. The games coordinator wasn't in so I had to basically assume his position for the day. Let's just say I have a newfound appreciation for what he does. The first two hours of the day were hell. Some customer called up and complained because they bought games and the counter sales girls didn't put the game into them, three people wanted to trade in games and a few wanted to pre-order. And everyone was asking me about questions relating to games! It's surprising how much you actually know when put under pressure though XD

Things settled down a bit after my lunch break, so it wasn't all that bad, I guess. One of the thefts happened when I was going crazy around the store trying to sort everything out though =.= Oh well, I was the only person in games today... Not much I could do about it. They're usually where the big bikkies are. However, my morning started by selling a Nintendo DS and convincing the buyer to get the package deal... Then just had a long time of selling games and such. Then one customer came along and was looking into buying a gift for Christmas. I really went all out on them XD

After 20mins with me, she bought:

1x Wii Console
1x Wii Remote
1x Wii Nunchuk
1x WiiFit Game/Balance Board
1x Battery Pack for Balance Board
1x Non-Slip jacket for Balance Board
1x Mario Kart Wii game
1x Wii Wheel accessory

That was an awesome sale x] Then about 5mins after, another customer was looking into a similar thing but they seemed much more stingy. Still, I managed to sell a Wii, a remote and a $75 3 year warranty XD. But that's not all! I also convinced someone who was gonna buy a PS2 to get an XBOX360 Pro with a racing wheel controller and game. I think I've solidified my position as a good salesman :P

Ended up going down to the Foundry (Pub/Bar/Grill) after work with the JB peeps. I've realised that I really don't fit into the group. At Gelare, I felt like I was part of the family... I feel like a bit of an outcast with the JB peeps. That said, I felt closer to the guys at Cannington store, who I've only spent a week with, compared to the Carousel guys, who I've spent 3 weeks with. It's a little wierd... But I guess that's just how it is.. Maybe I'm just too attached to the old group. I feel good when I see my old co-workers... Hannah at NZ Natural, Caren at Telstra, Esther, Quan and Alvin back at Gelare, Jane at HJs when Quan and I decide to go stalk her even XD

Miss you all D: We should hang out together again next holidays :D

Aim Progress

Since we opened yesterday morning, everytime I walked past GAME or EB Games, they have had 3 or 4 customers. At most. So I just cackle sinisterly and keep on walking. We don't wanna send Gametraders out of business. They're cool. The only games outlet that sells game-related accessories and stuff x] I like. I got my Sleeping Lionheart keychain from there :D I'll give GAME another 6 or 8 months before they shut down. Christmas might give them a bit of a boost, but I'll be sure to try and steal their potential customers >=)

Speaking of which. I caught a competitor checking out our prices in the games section. I went up to her and asked if she needed help at all and she just replied with a flat "NO" and continued with her work. I asked my superiors, and apparently there's nothing we can do about them! How stupid is that?! Oh well. It isn't our fault we're better x]. Also, we have a Grand Opening sale going on next week for those interested. Yes, I realise we opened on Thursday, but our store manager calls that a "Soft Opening". We basically use normal prices and let the whole "OMG NEW STORE" effect come into play and let people buy buy buy. THEN when we have the full week open, we do a grand opening sale to bring in more customers and try net us some regulars. Shouldn't be hard though... First time I got to use our sign in system which requires an employee number and a thumbprint. I thought it was pretty cool XD, considering previously I was paid based on what was written on a roster sheet. Everyone got a tenner (10 minute break) at 10.30am, got back at 10.40 and all settled down back to whatever it was we were doing. Around 11am, one of my managers comes running into the back room where myself and a few others were working shouting "EVERYONE ONTO THE FLOOR. THE ROOF IS CAVING IN AND LEAKING". Now, this is a guy who normally pulls jokes at people just for laughs, so I didn't really take him seriously at first. Then he shouted (rather politely, might I add o.O) "ALEX, GET A ROLL OF PLASTIC OUT". Allow me to attempt ASCII art to better explain what happened.

............[The.Floor]...................|
..........................................|
______________......_________________...__|
_____________.|..|..|________________|.|__
............|_|..v.......................|
................(M)......................|
[PlasticRoll]............................|
______________.......[Desk]..[Desk]....[D|
..............|......[....]..[....]....[E|
..............|......[....]..[....]....[S|.<--.I'm.working.here.
..............|......[....]..[....]....[K|
..............|__________________________|

Ok, Now that that's done.. (M) is my manager.. He ran to get one plastic roll out, then I sorta jogged over to them. When I looked to my right to see what was going on, all I saw was black sludge leaking from the roof onto the DVD section and all over the expensive plasma and flatscreen televisions, dvd players, blu-ray players... It was terrible! So I ran out as fast as I could with the huge roll of plastic, which was roughly 50cm in diameter and about 1.5m tall, and started unpacking it ASAP. Obviously, we had to get all our stock out of the way immediately, and a few of us got absolutely drenched in this black sludge that was now POURING out of the roof. It smelled like absolute shit. The manager that ran in tried climbing up a ladder to move the piece of the sealing that was leaking to try and divert it away from the expensive electronics, but before he could, the entire square just got too soggy and too heavy from all the sludge and fell. Right onto the guy's face. I felt sorry for him, but I really commend the guy on his conduct.

After the crap stopped falling, we started the cleanup. However, that was just as hectic as trying to get everything out of the way. We had to wipe every single DVD that got the sludge on it so that it wouldn't dry on them and stink the place up. I must say, as a team, we handled it really well :D We're still going to open on Thursday so it's gonna be real hardcore tomorrow. We may even be working well into the night! We'll have to see how things unravel :P

Future Career?

So I'm pretty dead-set on becoming a teacher... And also an ex-gelare co-worker who now works at Dome in Carousel XD (Iris, for those curious).

Love Love Love

It's Midnight, your tired drunk voice

2:00 a.m., the abruptly ended phone call

Nobody knows how I feel

I can't stop

Love love love

Though it hurts, I keep on repeating

I can't stop

Love love love

Have you ever been in love before?

Falling at first sight, like in the movies?

Spent the entire night talking on the phone?

Bragged to the entire world?

Waited in the pouring rain?

Run like crazy to the one you love?

Secretly guarded?

Gone crazy?

Pretended not to see when you really did?

I’m sure you have been in love

Spent all your money on your anniversary

Apologized even when you didn’t do anything wrong

Spent entire days writing love letters

Pushed back promises with your family

Prayed to God for that persons health

Ignored your friends

Missed them

Guarded their leaving figure

Can't stop love

Why? Use it, abuse it. Comments are appreciated :P

I have also discovered a newfound love for my car. One fuel tank lasted me 12 days, driving every day to and from work, even after driving around so much on the Monday when I held the Gelare meetup picnic thing. Better fuel efficiency than my Getz! So yeah, my 2008 Hyundai Accent might not be a Lamborghini Murciélago or a Nissan 350Z, but I've come to like it. It's definitely a comfortable ride :p

Also, some things I intend on working on. I've found myself saying 'like' way too much when talking. Must stop! If I say it to you in person, stomp on my foot please. Same goes for swearing. It really is pointless.. I've been trying to stop swearing for a while, and I'm getting there. Reasons? Not that much really. I just don't want to get to the point where I'm in a tense position and accidentally swear out of place. That, and if I wanna become a teacher, I have to straighten out. Also, it is SO much more amusing insulting people without having to swear to do so. Obviously, it's also bad to swear... But I guess I didn't really have to give that reason since it's a given.

OGM DOUBLE NAMES! D:

JB Hi-Fi now suffers from two pairs of people sharing the same name. The confusion today was pretty funny, especially when our manager didn't pick up on it. Basically there's 2 Alexs, and has been for about a week and a half... But we were never near each other until today when he was processing nearby. I turned around at least 10 times when Alex was called and it wasn't me... Then I ignored my manager one time because I thought she was calling for the other Alex. Terribad imo.

Then a new/experienced chick joined the Carousel ranks today, named June. We already had a chick named June... During introductions at a brief meeting this morning, original June got confused when someone named June was noted as a new employee... They're both Asian too, so it doesn't make things better x] At least each of us are in different sections. For the most part, I'm now referred to as Alex from Games. Apparently my surname is now "Fromgames" too. I must appeal to my manager to refer to me as Awesome, just for the sake of being awesome XD

I think the best part of the people at JB Carousel is that there doesn't seem to be any bad fruits at all... Really looking forward to when we open! :D

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://lxguardian.blogspot.com/2008/10/ogm-double-names-d.html' title='OGM DOUBLE NAMES! Out of 34 applicants for the job (most applicants for a single position in the store), I was the one that got picked from the bunch, so I'm really happy about that!

I also got fired from Gelare (which lead me to applying to JB Hi-Fi... Best turn of events ever!). The reason Rachma gave me? "I'm scared of your dad". Which she concluded from my dad calling head office to complain about her tardiness as far as her duties as a manager go. She is responsible, and expected to, give out group certificates for tax returns ASAP. But no. We all had to remind her. Over and over and over again. So my dad called up, obviously pissed off. Rachma got scared from the report that the head office secretary gave her or whatever, and fired me. So glad it happened! :P

There are a lot more intricacies to tell, but that's probably the biggest change in my schedule. I work at JB Hi-Fi full time until the end of this year, so come visit me if you're bored! :P We open on Thursday the 16th of October.

Also... The staff at JB Hi-Fi are friggin AWESOME. Reallllly nice people. I'll admit it doesn't have the tightness that I had back at Gelare with everyone, but that's most likely due to the fact that we're all in our own respective sections most of the time. Don't worry my Gelare friends, you're all still awesome XD

Ze Fumes Are Killing Me!!!! And Babylon A.D.

Okay, so.. Work as usual today. Working 9 hours a day, 6 days a week in order to be ready for JB Hi-Fi opening next Thursday. It's tiring but eh.. Today I had to make signs and write reviews, all in permanent marker. Tell you what... Five hours straight of having that stuff open near you really killed my brain. I felt so lightheaded and dizzy by the time I finished my shift. Went to visit Caren after my shift and I was so out of it.. I probably looked stoned or something to her lol. I then went to visit Hannah before I went home. She had the biggest smile on her face, which made me feel a little better... Smiling is good. People should smile more often.

...

Except Tina. For every smile she gives, a kitten is brutally clubbed to death D:

I went to see Babylon A.D. with Quannie last night. Decent movie, but it had something that really annoyed me. Some idiot thought that it'd be a good idea to have "Handheld" camera scenes where the camera is really jittery and you can't see a thing. IT. IS. STUPID. I guess they're using it as some sort of fancy "imagery", but it really detracts from the story. If you want to show something intense, then use music to make the situation intensify. If that doesn't do the job, whoever casted those actors needs to be sacked. That said, it was cool to see Michelle Yeoh in a role that didn't place her as "OMG AWESOME ASIAN CHICK WHO CAN KICK YOUR ASS WITH KUNG FU LOL". While there were instances when there was fighting, her Kung Fu prowess was not exaggerated at all. It was an acceptable amount of fighting that any actress, who knew how to throw a punch, could pull off. That's a definite plus.

I must also say that the story itself showed good character development, and the chick that played the holy girl (forgot her name =.=) did her job well. However, the story as a whole was pretty awesome...... Until it got near the end. I won't spoil it for anyone that wants to see it, but the ending was lackluster. At best.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://lxguardian.blogspot.com/2008/10/ze-fumes-are-killing-me-and-babylon-ad.html' title='Ze Fumes Are Killing Me!!!! My left forearm was basically being butchered, by a female no doubt. She said it to me time and time again, but it never really stuck until I was beaten(mostly mentally and emotionally) over and over again until it seeped into my head. So, thank you Tina. You're a bitch and I luv ya for it. You're one of the few real people left in this world.

For almost the entirety of my life, I have played the role of Mr. Nice Guy. Despite some of my actions, almost every decision I make in life is one where I try to make everyone happy. This is problem #1 with Mr. Nice Guy: Trying to please everyone. It is impossible. Actions cause reactions. Actions and reactions have consequences, and in most situations, there are always conflicting opinions, stances, whatever. This is just the way it is and you cannot please everyone. Shit, you could be the most influential person around and still not have everyone agree with you. Even if they agreed with you, they may agree MORE with someone else. Example? Take democracy. Yes, it's on a much larger scale, but no matter how hard a candidate may try to please everyone, there are always going to be people either opposed to that candidates thoughts OR they are more in favor of another.

Real life example?
Okay. Mr X is a very nice person but likes to have the attention of whoever they are talking to or else they get extremely frustrated. Mr Y is exactly the same. However, when Ms Z tries to please Mr X, Mr Y gets annoyed, and vice versa. Ms Z can try as she will to please them both, but in the end she won't have time to make herself happy.

This leads to my next point. Problem #2 with Mr. Nice Guy - Putting everyone else first. At first, you may think this is chivalrous, in a way. Sure, at times it is. But the typical Mr. Nice Guy will do it time and time again, despite being entirely detrimental to his own wellbeing or efforts. Example? Mr A, the nice guy, is hungry. He goes to a store and sees the last sandwich, egg and mayo, his favorite. Mr B is hungry and sees the final sandwich. Mr A purchases the sandwich and Mr B looks at him, disappointed. Mr A feels bad for him and decides to buy something else so that Mr B could have the sandwich. Mr A just lost a chance at doing something for himself, in favor of another, just because he's "nice".

This can go to even more extremes, such as taking the fall for someone else. Admirable as it may be, if you do it, you just screwed yourself over for someone else's mistake.

Probably by now you're thinking, "wow, this sounds so selfish". Is it selfish? Maybe. But imagine living your life doing things that will benefit everyone else, rarely doing anything that YOU enjoy doing. You may be thinking "oh what about all those missionaries?" Well, they obviously CHOSE to sacrifice their own wellbeing for the wellbeing of others. I'm sure that as many guys there are out there in our world that love to be the nice guy, they often do it without thinking of themselves first. Missionaries knew the sacrifice they were making when they go and do what they do. Anyway, onto my next point.

Problem #3 with Mr. Nice Guy - Helping others. I remember a time in high school when I was swamped with work. This sounds normal, right? Sure, if it were all my own. But it wasn't. I often gave up my own time to help others, sacrificing my time I should be spending on my own assignments and homework. I recall one night staying up helping 2 or 3 people at once, and not finishing my assignment until 5.30am the next morning. Might sound normal for uni students, but it definitely isn't something a high school student should be needing to do. Seriously, the biggest ever essay a teacher in high school ever threw at you was 2000 words. This entry alone is already 2/5 of the way there, and typed in less than 30mins. Don't get me wrong. If I can help others, I will, but not at my own costs.

Problem #4 with Mr. Nice Guy - Being walked on. Yes, this is similar to problem #2 and #3, but it involves the other party. If someone finds out you're a nice person and they like to get ahead, they CAN and they WILL use you. The worst part is, you may not even notice it until they start to overdo it. Even then, you won't have the balls to say anything. Which leads to my next point. One of Mr. Nice Guy's worst enemies can be one of their own friends. Sad, isn't it? Ever been guilt tripped? Sure, you feel bad that you can't do whatever it is that needs to be done, but you may know when to say no. Mr. Nice Guy doesn't understand the meaning of the word NO when someone guilt trips you. It's always yes yes yes yes.

Problem #5 with Mr. Nice Guy - You lack balls. You want to say something, but you can't. Why? Because it will upset someone. Having a natural concern for others is all well and good, but if something needs to be said, it should be. There are times when you need to say something but are scared of the consequences. You know, fuck the consequences! Stand up for yourself.

Problem #6 with Mr. Nice Guy - HANDBAGGED! This is a problem that only applies to one sex: the opposite of Mr. Nice Guy. (Despite being referred to as Mr. Nice Guy, there are Ms. Nice Girls too) The opposite sex will treat you like (you guessed it!) a handbag. You will carry their bags when you go shopping. You will drive them everywhere without even thinking about how far you're going just to help them, no matter how short the destination is away from them. You will help them with just about anything you can and YOU WILL GET FRIEND ZONED.

Friend zone? WTF is that? If you don't know what the friend zone is, you're either extremely good looking, have never been rejected or have never tried to get into a relationship. Or you're just plain dumb. I hope it isn't the last one. Friend zone, for those ignorant among us, is the dark place you go to when your heart only has one person in it, but to them, you're just that person they talk to and keep around for convenience. Is being friend zoned bad? I don't think it is at all. Unless it happens over and over and over and over and over again. Then you're in trouble.

I can't speak for women (obviously because I am not one, nor am I gay), but women (in the perspective of a guy / lesbian chasing them), and probably men(perspective of women / gay guy chasing them) too, want what they can't have. It's a natural fact of life. If you offer everything to the person you're interested from the start, they're unlikely to have any interest in you because there is no CHALLENGE. Let's be honest here. Everyone LOVES the chasing part of a relationship. When you don't know what the other is thinking. When you're hoping that your feelings aren't one sided. When you think about them and smile and hope that they do too. When you take that person out somewhere and you feel really nervous because you don't know what to say and hope that the other person breaks the awkward silence so you can talk. Or perhaps it's quite the opposite, and you both love talking to each other and want to get to know more.

I'm sure everyone has at least experienced some form of the chase. And to many, the chase ends when one (usually the male) gives in to "beating around the bush" and decides to ask her to be his girlfriend. Anyone who has had the other person answer yes will understand how much happiness they would have felt at that point. If you didn't feel overwhelmingly happy when you asked and they replied with yes, they either weren't that hard to chase, or you really don't feel what you should be feeling and you asked them out just for the sake of having a partner. In all honesty, I'm sure many of you who read this will know that I haven't really experienced this feeling of euphoria so maybe my words are incorrectly placed, but hey! I'm a real life example of Mr. Nice Guy always losing. One day, perhaps.

A short summary.
1. Making Everyone Happy
2. Always Finish Last
3. Helping Others
4. Being Walked On
5. Lacking Balls
6. HANDBAGGED / FRIEND ZONED

So, in the end, you're probably asking. Alex, are you going to become a complete asshole now? My answer to that is 'likely'. However, as much as I may say that... It's probably already been burnt into me. My character, who I am, the way I naturally act is to always put others first. Will I lose friends over this? Maybe. But hey, if you only liked me because I did everything for you and won't accept me as someone who wants to do something for myself, then fuck you. Those that deserve my kindness will receive it. But I'll say it here. No more Mr. Nice Guy.

TL;DR - Nice guys finish last

WANTED

I watched Wanted today. FANTASTIC movie. The choice of actors was great, and I was really getting involved in the movie.. However... Making the black guy say "kill that motherfucker", especially someone as respected as Morgan Freeman, was ridiculous. Does NOT suit him, or the movie, at all! Yes, there was a lot of coarse language, but someone in his position, who gave off a cool, calm and collected feel to his character... It really destroyed the moment :( I won't say anymore because it will spoil the story. If you're a fan of action movies, this is probably one of the best I have seen in a long time! I'd hate to say it... But this was better than Forbidden Kingdom... And I'm obsessed with Jackie Chan :( I'd say it even contends with the Police Story movies that Jackie Chan has done! Yes, I liked it that much :P

I was supposed to return to work last week, but Rachma (my manager) still hasn't given me any shifts... So I guess I'm unofficially fired. I'm actually quite happy though. I don't want to go back to Gelare. Ever. Or work with food anymore for that matter.

12th July, 2008 - Turned 19

Hey everyone! Long time no post :) Things have been very up and down for me lately, but it's generally alright. I celebrated my 19th birthday today! I thoroughly enjoyed it :D

Started off with Roid being a smartass and calling me at 8am and saying "Happy Birthday! Your birthday present is this wakeup call"..

Or does it start off with me staying up until 3am for no particular reason? Either way, a big thank you to everyone who wished me a happy birthday =)

Awards... If you can call them that :P

Hannah was the first one to wish me a happy birthday.
Quan was first to mispell it.
Caren sent the first SMS greeting.
Erin sent the most meaningful greeting.
Tina sent the most abusive greeting (and I luv her for it hahaha).
Roid sent the most annoying greeting (THANKS FOR WAKING ME UP! >_<, but it was funny).

Day started off getting ready to go out mainly.. Went to Han's Cafe with Esther, Rhys, Caren, Jou, Jacqueline, Quan and my brother and his friend, Siobhan. Was some decent food :) Hannah and Jane were missed though :(

After that we headed to Northbridge to go karaoke. Quan and I got there a bit early so we played one game of pool, which I won because he hit the white ball in with only the black left :P GG!

Karaoke was great fun, had all the guys singing at the top of our lungs on some songs XD. Probably the funniest part of that was when "Because I Got High" by Afroman came on, and I started substituting everywhere it said "I, me or my" with "Caren or she". Eg.. She was gonna go to class, but Caren got high.. She coulda cheated, and she coulda passed, but she got high...

It was pretty funny then, but it we particularly cracked up when it got to the verse that goes:

NOTE: PROFANITY, EXPLICIT CONTENT ETC.

I was gonna make love to you, but then I got high
I was gonna eat yo pussy too, but then I got high
Now I'm jackin' off, and I know why
Because I got high, because I got high, because I got high...

I'll leave the substitution for you :P Much love to Caren for being a good sport about it XD After that, we decided to go out for a quick dinner, and Quan suggested his old workplace, a Chinese restaurant in South Perth. Food was pretty good! I must say, they have the !!!!!!!BEST!!!!!!! fried ice cream I've ever had. SO good!

Following that was a speedy and bumpy ride in Quan's car... NOT a good mix after you just ate! He dropped me off at Carousel because he had to go babysit his nephew for a while. I ended up popping into Gelare for a minute to see who was working... I actually laughed a little inside when I saw Rachma, Lia and what looked like their other sister all working XD

Chris ended up picking me up from Carousel. Got home, mum was making a quiche and some mini shepherd's pie thingies. Once she was done with them, I took them to Andrew's house with me for a little gathering with the boys. Andrew and Vince were enjoying their shots, while Roid decided to stick to his beer / TEDs. Somehow ended up boxing each other. Vince was asking to be hit........ Literally. Funny stuff :p Sadly, I had to leave early because I was (and still am) feeling really sick for some reason. Well, until next time! :)

Peace.

Mydamo...

Ug, cu E kiacc cusa uv oui syo ryja hudelat sa hud paehk socamv mydamo. It's almost 11pm, I'm hungry, and we're trying to figure out what food we could make sound retarded.

According to that docket, my order actually came out as (in a retarded, lispy voice)

Me: 1 teethburger plz
Guy: Sorry, what was that?
Me: A TEETHBURGER thankth
Guy: Ok sure, anything else?
Me: uhh.. Will that be all?
Me:Yeth thankth

All the while, Esther is pissing herself laughing (or at least trying to suppress it so the guy in the speaker doesn't hear) Then we got to the payment and Esther was singing Fa Ru Xue by Jay Chou (which was playing from my cd) like a total retard, and I paid the guy acting like an idiot. The guy just smiled and started actually treating us like speds hahaha. He was manning both the pay window and the food window, so when he saw us at the food window, he spoke slowly to us and told us to wait for our "Oweo McFwuwwy". All in all, he seemed like a really friendly bloke. His accent was definitely Filipino though.

Then I got home, jumped on my blog and saw a comment from Tina for my previous post. The pic she put was EPIC. So I must repost it here for all to see. I was pissing myself laughing for a good 10mins. Many thanks Tina :P

And here I present, the bootz wif da fur.

After all that, I ended up having a good two Grand Prix race on Mario Kart with Andrew, Quannie and Cam, online. I went to a hip hop dance competition on Friday night. Simply said, it was awesome! And it helped having the people I knew in the same crew... AND they were the best crew. There is no bias in that sentence whatsoever... Okay, maybe a little bit, but they really were the best. When it came to the last two, they had the runner's-up from last year, and the winner from last year (the winner being XCITE, my friends' crew). The runner's-up were Filipinos, and I gotta admit, I thought they were amazing when I first saw them. I really wondered if XCITE could top their performance. What followed just made my jaw drop. XCITE were 2 to 3 times better than ANY other group there. After their performance was over, it was the first time in my life I'd ever felt compelled to give a standing ovation.

Work today sucked... Public holidays + gelare = bad mix. It was refreshing to see Esther come in today though. Haven't worked with her in yonks. Also saw something pretty funny today... An asian guy walked in, with his asian girlfriend. He looked like he was an exchange student or something... Then he had a call before I got to serving him and.. WOW. He had THE most Aussie accent I've heard in a long time. It was more Aussie than most Aussies I know! Think... Ahn Do, but even more Aussie than that.

Anyway, Andy Lau movie starting in 10mins. Let's hope this one doesn't suck like the last one I watched! Here are the facts about the three candidates.

Candidate A.

Associates with crooked politicians, and consults with astrologist. He's had two mistresses. Watched it with Caren, Charmaine and David, and bumped into Andrew and Catrina there too, as well as Henry also being there. Coincidence!

So I dropped by gelare yesterday and some guy was checking out Hannah. Then one of his friends went up to the counter and asked her for her name and number. It was quite funny :p Hannah went all red and couldn't wipe the embarassed grin off her face. SO CUTE~!

Anyway, I'm most likely quitting after next payday at work. Gonna go to Carousel today and drop my resume in some places. Wish me luck!

P.S. Last night, we had a party for his birthday, seeing as it would've been easier getting people to come on a weekend. I'll be perfectly honest with you. I don't really remember a lot of things that night. I drunk like a madman, but it was great fun :D I remember calling Caren and talking a lot of random crap... A lot of it in Japanese.

I managed to get down a few Jagerbombs which really made my night. Damn I love those!

Let's see.. I've been watching a lot of Great Teacher Onizuka lately. I love it!!! It's hilarious... It's quite easily rising to be one of my favourite anime of all time :p I've almost got 100% completion on Mario Kart Wii... Only one more cup to get at least a 1 star rating for... 150cc Flower Cup.. Damn I hate shy guy beach :(

I went out on Friday night to the Library nightclub and the Deen with Caren and Esther, then later joined by Jou and Jacqueline. I gotta admit... For its really high standards, the Library isn't all it's cracked up to be. However, for a jazz club, it's pretty good....... But for your general "I wanna go out and PARTAY" clubbing experience, you're much better off going to Zone 2 at the Deen or Metros City.

Hm.. My arm is still pretty screwed up, although I can drive now. I'll bet anything that even if I ask for some time off this week, Rachma will make me work... Sigh. Let's hope that the new peeps at Gelare don't have to go through what we went through last week =.=

Overworked, Underpaid, Underappreciated

Despite the great win on Monday night, I did come out of it with a bad twist in my left arm. I didn't think much of it until I woke up this morning and I could barely move it because of the pain. I think I've torn a ligament in my shoulder area. That said, I still ended up going to work. Even driving was painful. Let's just say that working today was not the best experience I've had. Thankfully KC was willing to do the last 3 hours of my 8 hour shift.

So... something happened today and it's made me really want to quit working at Gelare. I'm really starting to get sick of it. We're put under stressful conditions with high workloads and few workers using old or broken equipment. Not to mention complaints from our suppliers every few days asking us if the manager is around because they're chasing unpaid invoices from 5 months ago. I hope our manager understands that while she has the power to fire us, we have the power to put her out of business altogether. We know all the shortcuts she takes; health hazards, clapped out equipment and the like, inclusive.

Well, time to job hunt so I can quit that place. I didn't really take it in that much when we were told. I thought it was just another short tournament or something with all the junior mens teams playing. On arrival to the venue, I found out that it was actually only one game, with the best from our competition versus the best from the Salvo's competition (The Salvation Army for those who are aussie-slang impaired :P)

Our team consisted of team members made up of...
4x Eclipse (Andrew, Nas, Vince, Myself)
3x Kings
2x Cougars
2x _______ <-- Sorry.. don't know what team they were from >.> lol players #20 and #24

At about half time, the score was roughly 37 to 31 in their favour. At halftime, the three point competition started... Andrew and a player from Kings (Freeman) represented the Riverview All-Stars. It was eventually won by some random not even playing in the game so we will end the discussion about that here.

After halftime, we picked our game up. Lots of drives, lots of foul-drawing and a fantastic steal by Nas. Vince was there giving it his all with great rebounds despite the height advantage our opposition had. Andrew was just plain cleaning the court with his sharp passes and layups. I contributed with a lot of boxing out, defending and stuff... Nothing amazing, but it helped the players that were good at scoring, so I don't mind. Basketball is a team game after all :P

The final score was 50 to 54 in favour of the Riverview All-Stars. I was stoked! I really didn't think we'd get anything more than the feeling of a great win, but we were each awarded with a shiny golden medallion :D On the back it reads:

---Community---
All-Star Series
-----2008-----
--YOUNG GUNS--
--CHAMPIONS--

That really made my day. Maybe even made my week. I don't really win things very often, so it was really rewarding to get something like this, as simple as it is. Being selected to be part of the 'All-Stars' team was really rewarding too. Although I think I still have PLENTY of room for improvement.

21, 23 to 24, Sore

Title is last night and today so far in a nutshell.

I went to see 21 last night with Caren. The movie was GREAT... until it slowed down for the build up to the climax. It was a pretty intriguing movie that broke a lot of the drama-streaks with comic relief. The part that slowed down had no comic relief, which is probably what made it feel like it was dragging on. That, and it was already after 11pm. The resolution was lame... I gotta admit. The music choice was horrendous at best. Opening music made me feel like I was watching a replay of an arcade game. It didn't really add to the situation... Especially since it was so bad it actually made you THINK of the music. The ending song... An opera group singing their rendition of the song "You can't always get what you want" by the Rolling Stones... RUINED!

Had our basketball game this morning. It was four of us against five of them... We beat them 37-10 last week with all our players present, so we were hoping of something akin to that. We were up 16 to 6 at Halftime, then I proceeded to screw up in the second half. A lot. Double dribbled once...two bad passes. Then I did my back in, so I'm now in a lot of pain where my spine meets my pelvis... Lower back for those who don't know anything about bones... It was terrible. It was almost the end of the second half and the score was 23 to 22 in the opponents favour. They drew a foul on Charles. He managed to get both shots in, bringing us up to 24 points. After that, it was a matter of keeping the ball off the opponent for the remaining 47 seconds left in the game. Once the ball got thrown out of court twice, we had the game. Ball was in our possession and they were down by 1. The buzzer rang. Game: Eclipse. It was kinda tough to deal with, only winning by one point. But we did only have four players, and considering how much I screwed up, we didn't do too badly.

New Layout, Iron Man!

So I finally found a layout that works! It's not fantastic, and could do with a bit of modifying, particularly for my usage, but other than that I like how it looks. It isn't my own work... But it's still nice :P I want to get my edit post button back! And I want the dates to work... They're supposed to appear to the left of the post title but it isn't working :( lamesauce imo.

I watched Iron Man today... It's the first Marvel comic adapatation that I genuinely enjoyed, but I am yet to see Transformers which was supposedly really good. The light humour added in Iron Man was fantastic. Visuals were fantastic. The story had some nice turns and the character Tony Stark was very well created, and Downey Jr. played the role impeccably.

Hitch was on TV last night. Gotta love that movie. It's a 'chick flick'...... for guys. I don't know if all guys will hold the same sentiment to it, but any guy who has been in the shoes of Mr. Albert Brennaman will understand, appreciate and fall in love with the storyline. Yes, it is an underdog story... But it's an underdog story that relates very closely to many of our own lives. For all guys that have ever felt that "Nice guys finish last", this is the movie resonating with those thoughts in mind. Needless to say, after watching the movie, I felt a little bit lovesick? If you can call it that. It isn't a case of I'm desperate for a girlfriend or anything, it's more of one of those feelings you feel right after you watch a movie. In this case, it was a thought of "That would be a nice thing to be a part of" when referring to the whole pursuit of love theme presented in the film... Okay, maybe not the pursuit, but the feelings itself.

For those curious, my thoughts after watching Iron Man were "How cool would that suit be to have!!!!! PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW". Yeah. Typical male thoughts. Shut up :P

EDIT: 1 Hour later... I got my Navbar back, the timestamps work, but still no quick edit button... Oh well, it's not too bad at least :) Most of it is functioning!

P.S. I tried different things and this was one of the solutions I came up with, short of making an entirely new site that I will manually update. The background was an attempt at changing the look a little bit. To be honest, I think it looks like absolute shit... As in, even the default black background could have been better. I guess I'll wait for a few opinions first... Don't sugarcoat it though, coz I really don't want a shit looking blog. KTHANKS :)

NOTE: I can't change the darned colour of the links in some areas and it's really annoying me >_< Please disregard for now until I figure it out...... (and yes I have checked all the font settings in the html code as well as the customizable link color thing...)

1.55am, 14th May: Wow... Maybe it's because I'm feeling unwell, or just simply did not want to be there. Seeing four people working in a much smaller, similar store (Gloria Jean's Cafe and Wendy's in this case) when we only have 2-3 and almost double the traffic, if not more, it really makes me question if the pay is worth it. Don't get me wrong, it's perfectly possible to work with the number we have, but it means having to push ourselves every time it gets busy, and it can get annoying when a mistake happens. Simply put, Perth customers are fuckheads. 'Scuse the french, but 75-80% of people here complain and complain and complain and complain. We're doing the best we fucking can and all you do is complain. Die in a fire. Thanks.

I know I reached my limit at work when I actually swore at a customer. We called out that his mango smoothie was done. He didn't pick it up. Called it again, he didn't pick it up. We're too busy to monitor each and every person who gets their order (another reason why we should have more workers on). So when someone else took his smoothie, he had a shitfit at Caren, which was stupid and uncalled for. What was worse was his English was so badly broken, even among the Indian standard. So I thought I'd be diplomatic about it and made his smoothie right away. It took 1-2mins. Tops. When I went to give it to him, he had the nerve to say "At last." That just sent me over the edge, and I said to him, straight to his face "Fuck you too." He just looked at me and I walked away. I mean, I've joked about it and stuff, but that was the first ever time I actually swore at a customer. Maybe it was the harsh way he was talking to my friend, or the fact that he was being a narcissistic asswipe, but he really pissed me off.

I feel so drained right now...The only thing keeping me at work is the people there. /endrant

A good friend of mine has been looking really down lately, and it's bothering me. They're the kind of person who almost always has a smile on their face, and for the first time since meeting them, they have started going into deep, contemplatively-blank stares into space with a frown on their face. Something tells me it has something to do with the opposite sex, as most of those blank stares usually have to do with that. Deep thinking of "what-ifs" and "maybes". Perhaps I'm overthinking it and it really is nothing, but when I sense something is wrong, I'm usually right about it...

I really wish they would open up to me. I want to help, but they're blocking me out. I know that I have no right to pry into their personal life, but I really am concerned about their wellbeing. It would be nice to call them a close friend rather than just a good friend, but I doubt that will happen until they open up to me... Maybe that sounds a bit like blackmail or whatever, but it's the truth I guess... I can only really feel as if someone is a 'close' friend of mine if we share our thoughts and worries with each other. Real friends help each other out, right? Maybe I'm pushing too hard on them... Well, whatever it is that is bothering them, I hope it gets resolved soon, with or without me.

Today I'll end with a nice quote I found...

"Love is giving someone the power to destroy you...but trusting them not to." -Unknown

JIPPEDDDDDDDDDDD

So for the past fortnight I thought I'd work really hard and try to break the $1000 mark for my pay... I got to around $950 and was satisfied with that. When I went to check my bank today, I only got paid 700!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DAMN YOU TAXES!!! It's kinda killed my drive to do a lot of shifts :\ However, with that said, I guess that means I'm gonna socialise a bit more this fortnight rather than work all the time :P

I finished getting Death Note yesterday, only to find out it was DUBBED!!!! *dies* Dubs really kill an anime... Maybe I'm racist, maybe I'm a nazi about authenticity with voices and stuff, but damn... American voices destroy any anime :(

Um.. not much else to say really? Oh.. Shaped...

I haven't posted in a few days... simply because my net got shaped (from getting Death Note / downloading stuff from Wii Shop Online / playing Mario Kart Wii online) and my net couldn't even handle loading my blog... lolz. Anyways, let's see...

I got home on Friday night and felt absoutely rooted... Had a shower then crashed.I woke up on Saturday afternoon at 2.40pm, missing my basketball game, which went terribly... However, I ended up going out later that night to go to Pot Black then Han's Cafe for dinner, then to Icey Ice again... I must say, Icey Ice really does give you a good sugar high! The sugar highs you get from that are cheaper than getting drunk, and more fun... and tasty XD What's weird is that the next morning I had the worst headache... But I've never had a hangover before? Icey-ice-over IMO...

All in all, was a fun night... had a great laugh. Went into Gelare that night to see who was working, and what do you know. SOMEONE has a huge hickey on their neck. It looked painful XD

Sunday I didn't really do much... My brother's friends came over and we all played Mario Kart. Great fun :p Then yesterday I just worked... There were 3 people on from 4-6, with a hardly any customers... Even one person could handle the traffic! Had a good chat with Jane though so it's all good. Got home and decided to play some Zelda: Twilight Princess :P (In case you haven't caught on yet, I play games a lot to pass the time.....) It's a nice improvement over previous games, with a lot of added stuff! It's not a big improvement over Ocarina of Time though... But then again, it's hard to improve on a near-perfect game.

I was starting to get a little annoyed at the difficulty of Mario Kart Wii on 150cc mode / unlocking expert time trial ghosts... So I decided to try using the Gamecube controller on a whim. All I can say is WOW. I went from a D-grade, Silver-trophy win on Special Cup 150cc to a 1 star rating, gold trophy win in the same cup/class. Then I did the Lightning Cup for the first time and got a double-star rating on my first try! The improvement was huge! Wii Wheel is fun and all... but it just doesn't cut it sometimes :(

Today I'm doing my first ever Tuesday shift since I started work at Gelare... First ever day I'm going to sell half priced waffles XD Should be interesting, despite being during the 'quiet time.' Anyways, I must be off... Gotta do some shopping and grab some lunch before my shift starts. Adios!

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://lxguardian.blogspot.com/2008/05/woo-shaped.html' title='Woo... YUMMMMMMMMMM

Okay, so I went to play basketball today and started off pretty crappy... Missing shots from under the ring is inexcusable.. But once I got my groove I was boxing out and defending pretty damn good. Towards the end, when we were playing with 4 Eclipse (name of the basketball team I'm a part of) players against 4 other regulars at the Canning College courts and we came out on top. I think I managed to score 3 of the 9 points required to win, so I was feeling pretty happy about that.

After that we headed to Makan Cafe in Vic Park. Had some decent Mee Goreng there, and 2 glasses of Teh Tarik... Damn it's good! If you're ever in the area, go to Makan Cafe and get yourself some Teh Tarik... I prefer the cold version :P (It's near Icey Ice, across the street)

Speaking of Icey Ice, I finally went there for the first time today. It was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo gooddddddd!! I tried Oreo, Strawberry and Mango flavours and I have to say that the Mango one was the best. The Strawberry and Mango one came as the "Twin Towers" thing.. Roid made the smart joke of holding a spoon and saying "Here comes the aeroplane!" while zooming it around... I found it hilarious. Maybe I'm an asshole for that, but oh well. If you don't get it, it's probably better that way :P After that whole episode I was on a high, most likely sugar induced, but it was fun all the same. Probably one of the better food-outings I've been to in a while, in relation to food enjoyment <-> cost.

Ooh, and I finally got my Wii online this evening, and ended up versing Quanny in a few races :D I think the record was 2 - 2 as far as GP(Grand Prix) wins goes with just the two of us competing... He got so lucky with those red shells! Hax imo... In one instance, I had a fake item square guarding my back, and the red shell went right through it! And then there's Rainbow Road....................... I hate that stage. If you want to beat me in a stage on Mario Kart, that's the one. I hate it with a passion. I hope it dies in a fire. A very hot, scalding fire that's hot enough to sear it to a charcoal black but not hot enough to incinerate it within an instant. >_> Hate. I also ended up doing a few games online, one GP against Aussies only, where I averaged about 3rd place in most races. Another GP I did against the rest of the world... Something like 2 people from Japan, 2 people from Holland/The Netherlands, 6 people from America, 1 guy from Sweden and myself. I averaged second in most races.. The guy who averaged first in the races was from Japan. They had a female Mii.. So they might have been female. Whoever they were, they were nuts! Something like 8000 points to their name as opposed to everyone else's 5000-7000.

Anyway... Does anyone have Death Note? I can't find the series anywhere!!! I got to episode 13 or something then no more :( Also looking for any good comedies... Or any other anime with the amount of amazing twists and turns Death Note takes :P Speaking of anime, in the video store I went to today with Roid so he could drop off some vids... They called the anime section "MANGA TO RENT". OH EM GEE. I wanted to shoot whoever put that there. Shows my attention to detail x] Something really great happened over the past few days but I can't say what it is... But it's made me pretty happy for those involved :D

Let's see.. what's been happening the past few days... Day long shift on Sunday which I believe I've already posted about... For the record, Jane makes the best damn flat white coffees I've ever seen, presentation-wise... Puts most others at work to shame (myself included :\) Speaking about coffees, I'm slowly picking up the art of latte decoration, but its annoying >< Trying to get the right amount of everything, proper coffee layer etc. THEN you have to make the 'decoration' look good. I obviously don't bother trying when it's busy, but it's something to work on :P anddddddd omg! Cappuccino guy didn't come in on Sunday night! (Cappuccino guy = regular customer that comes at 9pm every Sunday night and orders a regular cap, then sits at the seat by the rail closest to the coffee machine) I think it's safe to say that we were all gravely disappointed :(

Okay, coffee discussion over... Oh yeah. A homeless guy came into work on Monday morning and I spent 10 minutes with him discussing what he wanted to buy. Note: He looked like he was mentally impaired in one way or another... he spoke extremely slow.

SHORT VERSION (TL;DR Version)He chose his ice-cream after a while picking it, almost paid for his ice-cream while taking an age to do it before another customer I served earlier saw what was going on, felt sorry for the guy, paid for his ice-cream and gave the homeless guy the $6.20 change from the money he gave me.

Long Version (I have a lot of time of my hands and Alex's interaction with a customer is so amazingly interesting that I must read up on the details Version)

Homeless Guy: *points to the small tub display* I want that one
Me: Sure. Which ice-cream would you like with that sir?
Homeless Guy: *points to the small tub display* I want that one
Me: Yes sir. Which ice-cream would you like with that?
Homeless Guy: *points to the small tub display* I want that one
Me: Yes sir, I know you would like that size of ice-cream. Which flavour ice cream would you like to have?
Homeless Guy: *points to the small tub display* I want that one
Me: Which flavour would you like with it sir? I will put it in the small tub for you, so please select a flavour.

>> Homeless guy looks at me blankly for 10 seconds. Then he points to the green cuff of his jumper sleeve

Homeless Guy: This colour.
Me: So was that the Persian Pistachio flavour sir? It's the only green coloured ice-cream we have.
Homeless Guy: *points to his cuff again* This colour.
Me: Yes sir, the only green ice-cream we have is Pistachio. Would you like that?
Homeless Guy: No. This colour. *points to his jumper cuff again*
Me: How about you look at the ice cream we have here and choose which ice-cream you would like sir?

>> He spends the next 5-7 minutes looking at every single ice-cream in painstaking detail... or was just slow, most likely the latter. When he was done, he points to the Persian Pistachio

Homeless Guy: That one.

So I scooped the ice cream and gave it to him and told him it would be $3.80. He brings out his wallet and stares at me. I repeated the price to him and he starts rummaging through his wallet and brings out two 50c coins then looks at me. I told him there's $2.80 left to pay. He slowly brings out 20c coins one at a time, spending about 20seconds between each coin until he makes another dollar. I tell him there is still $1.80 to pay. The same thing happened this time, except with 10c coins. When he got to the last 10c, another customer came up and gave me a $10 note to pay for the ice-cream, which he gave the change to the homeless guy out of sympathy? or was it pity? Who knows... Either way, it was the last 10c. If you're gonna be all JUSTICE LEAGUE about it, at least step in early next time k thanks. Kudos to your generosity though, whoever you are.

So anyway, the rest of the Monday was pretty quiet. Then at 3.30, Hannah left to go home and Rhys, who just arrived, went to do the shopping for the store. And, as you all know Murphy's Law, that's when all the customers decided to flood in :] Yay...... So that last half hour was fun... *cough*

As for today, I didn't really do much.. Just played Mario Kart Wii for most of the day. Already unlocked a lot of stuff, for a game that I've only had for 2 days. I'm going out tomorrow though so I guess it's okay XD. Basketball tomorrow then I'm finally going to this 'Icey Ice' everyone's been talking about. Looking forward to it! With that, I will bid you adieu to enjoy my Tuesday night dose of anime :D Tonight: Watching Minami-ke

Edit: Welcome to my blogroll Jane :]

Forgetting Sarah Marshall

Okay. The movie was funny, for sure. But not one person told me of the several showings of penis in that movie. It was disturbing... It was something like "DID THEY JUST DO THAT?!!?" in my head, then they did it again .___. All in all, it was good. The pearl necklace joke was classic... Speaking of which, I ended up explaining half the jokes to Caren after the movie which was a little bit awkward I guess, but funny all the same x]

Bleh.. There's more to tell but I'm so buggered right now. I'll put an epic post up once I'm feeling better... Hee haw!

Firstly, Karaoke rocked. It was heeeeeeeaps of fun... How often do you get to see two guys singing Barbie Girl in the girliest possible voices (or maybe just screechingly high pitched) they have :P I also debuted my Chinese singing... It was fun, but I'm not sure if my pronunciation was right... Esther said it was, but knowing her... Caren has a nice singing voice too.

I only ended up drinking one 700ml container of bubble tea, but it was still good. Lychee flavour with double lychee jelly <3 We went to Hog's Breath for dinner before. I was expecting an expensive meal. I expected correctly. However, the meal was pretty damn good.. If I wasn't so picky about rare steaks, I'd say they were cooked great... but next time I'm getting well done, for sure...

At around midnight I get a call from Andrew asking me to go to his house, so I leave Caren with her friends to go clubbing to go there. First thing he says to me when I get there: "Hey man, Roid and Vince are over there. Vince puked in the taxi and cost us $85 and our ride to Northbridge". After that ensued a rather hilarious discussion, from the wasted one of course. He started talking about people and their basketball skills, then with Andrew's (drunk) intervention, makes Vince say stuff. Eg...

Vince: Andrew is a good 3 point shooter!
Andrew: and what else?
Vince: and... and... 3 point shooter!
Andrew: and licking p***y right?
Vince: and licking.. what?? yeah.. licking p***y.. and d**k.

Or something along those lines... Silly drunk people. Roid's got a recording on his phone, so will be funny to see those again sometime soon :P

As for Forgetting Sarah Marshall, it was hilarious, but, as a male, it was rather unsettling to see a guy's d**k on screen... Three times. Then again, it did really add to the humor of it all. While watching I noticed Caren didn't get half the jokes... Which ended up in me explaining them after the movie XD LOL @ Pearl Necklace joke :D

Well, today I had a morning shift at work which ended up becoming a whole-day shift. It was pretty fun and I'm kinda glad I took the longer shift. Hannah and Jane are awesome to work with... They're almost always laughing, which is great :D Too bad Hannah gets easily scared by me :P (who can blame her?). It's a lot of fun working with Caren and Esther... Nothing can top Esther's stupidity and self-set ups for jokes. Muwahaha. Caren just makes her act stupider for whatever reason that is, let alone setting herself up for jokes. Wahahaha..

Esther's Antics #1:
Esther is holding a waffle, walks up to Caren and says: "Donkey. . . . Hee haw!"
For no reason at all. Caren loses it.

Esther's Antics #2:
Esther: "I've got a fucking presentation tomorrow!!!"
Me: "I didn't know they did that kind of thing in Uni..."

It took a while to click, but once Caren got it she lost it, yet again.

More happened, but it's time for me to sleep... Morning shift at work tomorrow :[ (yes my MORNING shift starts at 10am, so what? :P)

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://lxguardian.blogspot.com/2008/04/day-after-hee-haw.html' title='The day after... I was a little worried yesterday because I couldn't contact Utopia to make a booking, but luckily there was a free room when I finally got through. I'm eager to see a certain two people do a duet for a song... If that will happen haha. I think I'll go for another 1.4L of bubble tea tonight :D

I'm finally going to go see Forgetting Sarah Marshal today, after about a week of trying to get someone to watch it with me >_< After watching Meet The Spartans alone, I think it's safe to say that watching movies alone is depressingly lame. It was a funny movie, but c'mon... Half the fun of a comedy is re-enacting the funniest parts with your friends right after. I watched Semi-Pro with Roid and thought it wasn't that great, but making fun of the movie the next day on our basketball game was hilarious. Maybe that's just something Roid does though XD

So, my brother is a great guy, but there are times when he can get on my nerves. Maybe not directly, but he keeps on pissing my dad off all the time, so he goes around swearing and whatever all the time. Not cool. Well, in a way it's good because by doing nothing wrong around the house and just helping around with cleaning and cooking, he's giving me pocket money (which I really don't need lol). At least it's less money I'm spending on socialising so more money I can save up for my trip to Japan at the end of next year (hopefully ><) :D

As for the Wii I got the other day, my mum is addicted! I'll admit, she beat me in Bowling on the Wii Sports game... It was 153 to 189. Shame! So when she went to work I practiced hardcore and now average a 220 game hahaha. I was rather impressed though... How many mums do you see nowadays owning you in a video game? :P

Too soft?

I think I'm too soft on the inside. When you get to the point where you, as a male, cry over something that a female friend of yours wont, I guess you start to question your masculinity. No. I'm not saying I'm gay, so end it there. Maybe it isn't a matter of masculinity but moreso a matter of emotional value. I tend to see myself as someone who is very much in touch with his emotions... But is that reason enough to cry over something you saw in an 8 minute video?

Over a year ago Tina sent me a link to youtube with a video of an asian pop song, which she tends to do a lot, so I went on and watched it. The video is HERE if you want to watch it. It brought tears to my eyes, and I felt rather down for the next hour or so. Thought it wouldn't happen again, so I watched it again about a week later. Same result.

I ended up talking to another friend about Korean dramas and how they always make such dramatic death scenes or huge sacrifices for love, and it reminded me of watching that video. I knew what was going to happen. I know what the song sounds like. I've seen the video twice before. I told myself I wouldn't cry. I shouldn't, right? After all, I know what happens. Wrong. It still brought tears to my eyes. Maybe it isn't emotions as a whole but just my desire for romance? Who knows...

With that all said, I don't know if they're tears of sadness of the two of them splitting up or for the sacrifice that he made for her for the sake of love, which he would never have the joy of experiencing as he did before... Judging from what I just typed, I'm going to go ahead and assume it's the latter. Sad video is sad.

Yanks and Seppos

I was reading through the WoW Forums and found a thread with an argument between American and Australian players... After a lot of bickering, there was a few posts that really cracked me up.

Poster 1:man, im american and i love aussie accents. They are my favorite!

Only thing i dont like is that they call everyone Yanks. when i think of that, i think of people that live in the south. I live way up close to canada and i think it sounds strange to say that imo.

Poster 2: Not all of us call you yanks, some of us call u Seppo's

Poster 3:What exactly is a Seppo?

Poster 2:Yay i was hoping someone would ask that. Incase you're to lazy to google it here it is. Seppo is short for septic tank, which is rhyming slang for yank. Because septic tanks and yanks are full of the same thing.

HAHAHAHAHA... Sorry to all my American/Yank/Seppo friends, but I found this hilarious... Wasn't exactly what I was hoping for (wanted to get an extra controller and nunchuck) but it was still good :D I ended up spending about 2 hours just creating random Miis for kicks, then about an hour or two of Wii Tennis :P 'Nuf bout that.

I watched Street Kings last night with Andrew and Catrina. I was hoping it would be good, but as usual, the trailer was better than the movie. You've really got to congratulate whoever makes these trailers. They make you want to watch sub-par movies :\ That aside, the movie wasn't TERRIBLE; it had a decent flow to it. However, the whole storyline is a liiiiiiiiiittle bit cliche with nothing to back it up. Keanu's acting was decent. Whoever did the casting, though, needs to reassess who they choose for characters... I mean, Keanu was probably the only person that fit his role nicely.

Don't get me wrong, Terry Crews is a great actor, but having him play a plot-starting / changing character in a serious movie was way too odd for me to see... I think most people are comfortable seeing him in comedy movies, which is where he should stay... For those wondering who Terry Crews is, he's the bald, buff black guy that can flex his pecs to make them look like they're jumping.. He played Freddy 'Fingers' Wilson in "Balls of Fury", the black guy that was into white chicks in "White Chicks" and one of the flight attendants in "Soul Plane". I believe he's also in the upcoming "Get Smart" movie. As you can see, he's a seasoned comedy-actor.. So yeah, that's one thing that really kinda killed the atmosphere the movie was trying to give. If you still don't know who Terry Crews is, go google him if you wish.

Another thing was seeing Hugh Laurie in the movie. Fantastic actor, don't get me wrong. But come ON people! We're so used to seeing him in a hospital as our beloved Dr. House! WHY would you put his introductory scene in a hospital. Please. Why? At least change his attitude a bit too. It isn't much different from his 'House' persona. Yeah, I know that that is how the character is supposed to act, but then shouldn't you cast someone else? His introduction in a hospital and similar attitudes really destroyed the Capt. James Biggs character and made Dr. House a cop... At least in Stuart Little you can't even tell it was him until the credits rolled... (might also be because Stuart Little was before his House debut, but that's beside the point :P)

I ended up buying "No More Heroes" for the Wii today (man, I'm so wasteful...maybe I should get myself a girlfriend instead of spending money on games.. haha) It's fantastic! The combat system is a nice change from what I'm used to nowadays. I haven't exactly played the game in-depth so this is probably the main thing that I have to comment on. The general idea of the storyline and stuff is pretty original though. Kudos to the creators.

Inspiration and Impulsive Buying...

I'm really wanting to make this blog look a lot better, but that will have to begin with a complete overhaul (not using the templates provided) and working on my HTML and CSS skills. After looking through some friends' blogs and checking out their source codes for html and css, I realised that I could do that too... I just need to learn how to apply what they did haha. Hopefully, over the next few days / weeks / months even, I'll be able to come up with something that's somewhat pleasing to the eye.

I woke up this morning with the sudden urge to go buy a new game. Don't get me wrong, FF7:Crisis Core is fantastic, but it's too damn easy, even on hard mode :( Maybe I should try getting used to the game Quannie got me for Christmas..... I'm a total noob at stealth games :\ I'm that guy that went in Rambo-style in Goldeneye single player mode. I couldn't even pass the first stage though!!! (on Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops) I mean, sure I can shoot the guy in the face and he'll fall asleep (yaaaaaaawn... why doesn't he just die) but then I get to the next area and if I get spotted I'm a goner :(

I really wanna get my Wii now. Or play Dirge of Cerberus for PS2, but moreso the former. Pay day this Thursday so hopefully I'll grab it then :P

I think I'm gonna watch a movie tonight, don't know what yet... Will tell you all later :P.. While we're on the topic of movies, I forced myself to stay up last night to watch a movie on SBS starring Andy Lau and Jacky Cheung. I was hoping it would be great.. I mean, popular actors + asian gangster movie = can't go wrong, right? Wrong! I mean, the movie didn't really have any climax.. No climax is already auto-fail. The story itself was interesting, I guess. It'd give someone who was critically analysing it, for some deeper meaning or something, a run for their money, maybe, but other than that it was mediocre at best and not worth staying up for...

Well, end of this post. May post more later. Bye!

The Opening

Hi all and welcome to my blog :) I suddenly felt inspired to start blogging again, and with that came the urge to do something I haven't done in a while... Creating a banner. Yeah, I know the name is corny but whatever... I just needed a name to work with so I could make something :P I have a really long way to go design wise... But, at least I learned a few things back at TAFE. The banner was made entirely from scratch, minus the keychain thingamajig.

Also, thanks to Hannah for being the first person on my blogroll :P any other takers?
