Candidate A is Franklin D. Roosevelt.
Candidate B is Winston Churchill.
Candidate C is Adolph Hitler.

And, by the way, on your answer to the abortion question: If you said YES, you just killed Beethoven.

Pretty interesting isn't it? Makes a person think before judging someone.

Never be afraid to try something new.

This is something I found on Xiaxue's blog. This girl is so amazingly funny, I highly recommend giving her blog a read. Many thanks to Tina for showing me :P

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

I watched Indiana Jones 4 last night. It was pretty interesting, although the whole "Mr Oxley has all the answers in riddles and he's with us most of the time so it's ok" idea kinda sucked. Watched it with Caren, Charmaine and David, and bumped into Andrew and Catrina there too, as well as Henry also being there. Coincidence!

So I dropped by gelare yesterday and some guy was checking out Hannah. Then one of his friends went up to the counter and asked her for her name and number. It was quite funny :p Hannah went all red and couldn't wipe the embarassed grin off her face. SO CUTE~!

Anyway, I'm most likely quitting after next payday at work. Gonna go to Carousel today and drop my resume in some places. Wish me luck!

P.S. Thanks for being my referral Rhys :p

It was Andrew's birthday on Thursday and a couple of us hung out together at Andrew's house. Last night, we had a party for his birthday, seeing as it would've been easier getting people to come on a weekend. I'll be perfectly honest with you. I don't really remember a lot of things that night. I drunk like a madman, but it was great fun :D I remember calling Caren and talking a lot of random crap... A lot of it in Japanese.

I managed to get down a few Jagerbombs which really made my night. Damn I love those!

Let's see.. I've been watching a lot of Great Teacher Onizuka lately. I love it!!! It's hilarious... It's quite easily rising to be one of my favourite anime of all time :p I've almost got 100% completion on Mario Kart Wii... Only one more cup to get at least a 1 star rating for... 150cc Flower Cup.. Damn I hate shy guy beach :(

I went out on Friday night to the Library nightclub and the Deen with Caren and Esther, then later joined by Jou and Jacqueline. I gotta admit... For its really high standards, the Library isn't all it's cracked up to be. However, for a jazz club, it's pretty good....... But for your general "I wanna go out and PARTAY" clubbing experience, you're much better off going to Zone 2 at the Deen or Metros City.

Hm.. My arm is still pretty screwed up, although I can drive now. I'll bet anything that even if I ask for some time off this week, Rachma will make me work... Sigh. Let's hope that the new peeps at Gelare don't have to go through what we went through last week =.=

Overworked, Underpaid, Underappreciated

Despite the great win on Monday night, I did come out of it with a bad twist in my left arm. I didn't think much of it until I woke up this morning and I could barely move it because of the pain. I think I've torn a ligament in my shoulder area. That said, I still ended up going to work. Even driving was painful. Let's just say that working today was not the best experience I've had. Thankfully KC was willing to do the last 3 hours of my 8 hour shift.

So... something happened today and it's made me really want to quit working at Gelare. I'm really starting to get sick of it. We're put under stressful conditions with high workloads and few workers using old or broken equipment. Not to mention complaints from our suppliers every few days asking us if the manager is around because they're chasing unpaid invoices from 5 months ago. I hope our manager understands that while she has the power to fire us, we have the power to put her out of business altogether. We know all the shortcuts she takes; health hazards, clapped out equipment and the like, inclusive.

Well, time to job hunt so I can quit that place. Retail, here I come :)

Riverview All-Stars!

About two weeks ago, our team was told that we were selected to play in a Junior Mens All-Star competition to raise money for charity. I didn't really take it in that much when we were told. I thought it was just another short tournament or something with all the junior mens teams playing. On arrival to the venue, I found out that it was actually only one game, with the best from our competition versus the best from the Salvo's competition (The Salvation Army for those who are aussie-slang impaired :P)

Our team consisted of team members made up of...
4x Eclipse (Andrew, Nas, Vince, Myself)
3x Kings
2x Cougars
2x _______ <-- Sorry.. don't know what team they were from >.> lol players #20 and #24

At about half time, the score was roughly 37 to 31 in their favour. At halftime, the three point competition started... Andrew and a player from Kings (Freeman) represented the Riverview All-Stars. It was eventually won by some random not even playing in the game so we will end the discussion about that here.

After halftime, we picked our game up. Lots of drives, lots of foul-drawing and a fantastic steal by Nas. Vince was there giving it his all with great rebounds despite the height advantage our opposition had. Andrew was just plain cleaning the court with his sharp passes and layups. I contributed with a lot of boxing out, defending and stuff... Nothing amazing, but it helped the players that were good at scoring, so I don't mind. Basketball is a team game after all :P

The final score was 50 to 54 in favour of the Riverview All-Stars. I was stoked! I really didn't think we'd get anything more than the feeling of a great win, but we were each awarded with a shiny golden medallion :D On the back it reads:

---Community---
All-Star Series
-----2008-----
--YOUNG GUNS--
--CHAMPIONS--

That really made my day. Maybe even made my week. I don't really win things very often, so it was really rewarding to get something like this, as simple as it is. Being selected to be part of the 'All-Stars' team was really rewarding too. Although I think I still have PLENTY of room for improvement.

21, 23 to 24, Sore

Title is last night and today so far in a nutshell.

I went to see 21 last night with Caren. The movie was GREAT... until it slowed down for the build up to the climax. It was a pretty intriguing movie that broke a lot of the drama-streaks with comic relief. The part that slowed down had no comic relief, which is probably what made it feel like it was dragging on. That, and it was already after 11pm. The resolution was lame... I gotta admit. The music choice was horrendous at best. Opening music made me feel like I was watching a replay of an arcade game. It didn't really add to the situation... Especially since it was so bad it actually made you THINK of the music. The ending song... An opera group singing their rendition of the song "You can't always get what you want" by the Rolling Stones... RUINED!

Had our basketball game this morning. It was four of us against five of them... We beat them 37-10 last week with all our players present, so we were hoping of something akin to that. We were up 16 to 6 at Halftime, then I proceeded to screw up in the second half. A lot. Double dribbled once...two bad passes. Then I did my back in, so I'm now in a lot of pain where my spine meets my pelvis... Lower back for those who don't know anything about bones... It was terrible. It was almost the end of the second half and the score was 23 to 22 in the opponents favour. They drew a foul on Charles. He managed to get both shots in, bringing us up to 24 points. After that, it was a matter of keeping the ball off the opponent for the remaining 47 seconds left in the game. Once the ball got thrown out of court twice, we had the game. Ball was in our possession and they were down by 1. The buzzer rang. Game: Eclipse. It was kinda tough to deal with, only winning by one point. But we did only have four players, and considering how much I screwed up, we didn't do too badly.

New Layout, Iron Man!

So I finally found a layout that works! It's not fantastic, and could do with a bit of modifying, particularly for my usage, but other than that I like how it looks. It isn't my own work... But it's still nice :P I want to get my edit post button back! And I want the dates to work... They're supposed to appear to the left of the post title but it isn't working :( lamesauce imo.

I watched Iron Man today... It's the first Marvel comic adapatation that I genuinely enjoyed, but I am yet to see Transformers which was supposedly really good. The light humour added in Iron Man was fantastic. Visuals were fantastic. The story had some nice turns and the character Tony Stark was very well created, and Downey Jr. played the role impeccably.

Hitch was on TV last night. Gotta love that movie. It's a 'chick flick'...... for guys. I don't know if all guys will hold the same sentiment to it, but any guy who has been in the shoes of Mr. Albert Brennaman will understand, appreciate and fall in love with the storyline. Yes, it is an underdog story... But it's an underdog story that relates very closely to many of our own lives. For all guys that have ever felt that "Nice guys finish last", this is the movie resonating with those thoughts in mind. Needless to say, after watching the movie, I felt a little bit lovesick? If you can call it that. It isn't a case of I'm desperate for a girlfriend or anything, it's more of one of those feelings you feel right after you watch a movie. In this case, it was a thought of "That would be a nice thing to be a part of" when referring to the whole pursuit of love theme presented in the film... Okay, maybe not the pursuit, but the feelings itself.

For those curious, my thoughts after watching Iron Man were "How cool would that suit be to have!!!!! PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW". Yeah. Typical male thoughts. Shut up :P

EDIT: 1 Hour later... I got my Navbar back, the timestamps work, but still no quick edit button... Oh well, it's not too bad at least :) Most of it is functioning!

P.S. Welcome to my blogroll Caren and Ash(Virgilius)

Creative Cap!

9pm, 13th May: I've got my creative cap on again and feel like revamping this ugly blog finally!

12.30am, 14th May: Okay... so I found out that making your own blogger template is a lot harder than it seems... I tried different things and this was one of the solutions I came up with, short of making an entirely new site that I will manually update. The background was an attempt at changing the look a little bit. To be honest, I think it looks like absolute shit... As in, even the default black background could have been better. I guess I'll wait for a few opinions first... Don't sugarcoat it though, coz I really don't want a shit looking blog. KTHANKS :)

NOTE: I can't change the darned colour of the links in some areas and it's really annoying me >_< Please disregard for now until I figure it out...... (and yes I have checked all the font settings in the html code as well as the customizable link color thing...)

1.55am, 14th May: Wow... It's even a lot of trouble to use a freakin template... This is pissing me off :( I think I'll go to sleep and fix it in the morning or something.......

Thoughts, Worries and Profanities

For the first time since starting at Gelare, I actually felt like quitting yesterday. Maybe it's because I'm feeling unwell, or just simply did not want to be there. Seeing four people working in a much smaller, similar store (Gloria Jean's Cafe and Wendy's in this case) when we only have 2-3 and almost double the traffic, if not more, it really makes me question if the pay is worth it. Don't get me wrong, it's perfectly possible to work with the number we have, but it means having to push ourselves every time it gets busy, and it can get annoying when a mistake happens. Simply put, Perth customers are fuckheads. 'Scuse the french, but 75-80% of people here complain and complain and complain and complain. We're doing the best we fucking can and all you do is complain. Die in a fire. Thanks.

I know I reached my limit at work when I actually swore at a customer. We called out that his mango smoothie was done. He didn't pick it up. Called it again, he didn't pick it up. We're too busy to monitor each and every person who gets their order (another reason why we should have more workers on). So when someone else took his smoothie, he had a shitfit at Caren, which was stupid and uncalled for. What was worse was his English was so badly broken, even among the Indian standard. So I thought I'd be diplomatic about it and made his smoothie right away. It took 1-2mins. Tops. When I went to give it to him, he had the nerve to say "At last." That just sent me over the edge, and I said to him, straight to his face "Fuck you too." He just looked at me and I walked away. I mean, I've joked about it and stuff, but that was the first ever time I actually swore at a customer. Maybe it was the harsh way he was talking to my friend, or the fact that he was being a narcissistic asswipe, but he really pissed me off.

I feel so drained right now...The only thing keeping me at work is the people there. /endrant

A good friend of mine has been looking really down lately, and it's bothering me. They're the kind of person who almost always has a smile on their face, and for the first time since meeting them, they have started going into deep, contemplatively-blank stares into space with a frown on their face. Something tells me it has something to do with the opposite sex, as most of those blank stares usually have to do with that. Deep thinking of "what-ifs" and "maybes". Perhaps I'm overthinking it and it really is nothing, but when I sense something is wrong, I'm usually right about it...

I really wish they would open up to me. I want to help, but they're blocking me out. I know that I have no right to pry into their personal life, but I really am concerned about their wellbeing. It would be nice to call them a close friend rather than just a good friend, but I doubt that will happen until they open up to me... Maybe that sounds a bit like blackmail or whatever, but it's the truth I guess... I can only really feel as if someone is a 'close' friend of mine if we share our thoughts and worries with each other. Real friends help each other out, right? Maybe I'm pushing too hard on them... Well, whatever it is that is bothering them, I hope it gets resolved soon, with or without me.

Today I'll end with a nice quote I found...

"Love is giving someone the power to destroy you...but trusting them not to." -Unknown

So for the past fortnight I thought I'd work really hard and try to break the $1000 mark for my pay... I got to around $950 and was satisfied with that. When I went to check my bank today, I only got paid 700!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DAMN YOU TAXES!!! It's kinda killed my drive to do a lot of shifts :\ However, with that said, I guess that means I'm gonna socialise a bit more this fortnight rather than work all the time :P

I finished getting Death Note yesterday, only to find out it was DUBBED!!!! *dies* Dubs really kill an anime... Maybe I'm racist, maybe I'm a nazi about authenticity with voices and stuff, but damn... American voices destroy any anime :(

Um.. not much else to say really? Oh.. I hope whoever stole Hannah's phone dies a slow, excruciatingly painful death. Soon. Kthanks :]

Woo... Shaped...

I haven't posted in a few days... simply because my net got shaped (from getting Death Note / downloading stuff from Wii Shop Online / playing Mario Kart Wii online) and my net couldn't even handle loading my blog... lolz. Anyways, let's see...

I got home on Friday night and felt absoutely rooted... Had a shower then crashed.I woke up on Saturday afternoon at 2.40pm, missing my basketball game, which went terribly... However, I ended up going out later that night to go to Pot Black then Han's Cafe for dinner, then to Icey Ice again... I must say, Icey Ice really does give you a good sugar high! The sugar highs you get from that are cheaper than getting drunk, and more fun... and tasty XD What's weird is that the next morning I had the worst headache... But I've never had a hangover before? Icey-ice-over IMO...

All in all, was a fun night... had a great laugh. Went into Gelare that night to see who was working, and what do you know. SOMEONE has a huge hickey on their neck. It looked painful XD

Sunday I didn't really do much... My brother's friends came over and we all played Mario Kart. Great fun :p Then yesterday I just worked... There were 3 people on from 4-6, with a hardly any customers... Even one person could handle the traffic! Had a good chat with Jane though so it's all good. Got home and decided to play some Zelda: Twilight Princess :P (In case you haven't caught on yet, I play games a lot to pass the time.....) It's a nice improvement over previous games, with a lot of added stuff! It's not a big improvement over Ocarina of Time though... But then again, it's hard to improve on a near-perfect game.

I was starting to get a little annoyed at the difficulty of Mario Kart Wii on 150cc mode / unlocking expert time trial ghosts... So I decided to try using the Gamecube controller on a whim. All I can say is WOW. I went from a D-grade, Silver-trophy win on Special Cup 150cc to a 1 star rating, gold trophy win in the same cup/class. Then I did the Lightning Cup for the first time and got a double-star rating on my first try! The improvement was huge! Wii Wheel is fun and all... but it just doesn't cut it sometimes :(

Today I'm doing my first ever Tuesday shift since I started work at Gelare... First ever day I'm going to sell half priced waffles XD Should be interesting, despite being during the 'quiet time.' Anyways, I must be off... Gotta do some shopping and grab some lunch before my shift starts. Adios!

Nothing really happened today, just work work. 8 hour shift after being awake for 2 hours, come home, awake for 2 more hours then sleep. Nothing interesting. 13 hour shift tomorrow, will be SO FUN.............. Wake up, work, sleep again methinks... Not much more to say today :\

Oh, thanks for coming to visit Angela :] And Caren... Even though you probably only wanted ice cream... haha. King is crazy.

EDIT: Welcome to my blogroll Elissa :)
