Looks like I double posted about Forgetting Sarah Marshall... Shows my attention to detail x] Something really great happened over the past few days but I can't say what it is... But it's made me pretty happy for those involved :D

Let's see.. what's been happening the past few days... Day long shift on Sunday which I believe I've already posted about... For the record, Jane makes the best damn flat white coffees I've ever seen, presentation-wise... Puts most others at work to shame (myself included :\) Speaking about coffees, I'm slowly picking up the art of latte decoration, but its annoying >< Trying to get the right amount of everything, proper coffee layer etc. THEN you have to make the 'decoration' look good. I obviously don't bother trying when it's busy, but it's something to work on :P anddddddd omg! Cappuccino guy didn't come in on Sunday night! (Cappuccino guy = regular customer that comes at 9pm every Sunday night and orders a regular cap, then sits at the seat by the rail closest to the coffee machine) I think it's safe to say that we were all gravely disappointed :(

Okay, coffee discussion over... Oh yeah. A homeless guy came into work on Monday morning and I spent 10 minutes with him discussing what he wanted to buy. Note: He looked like he was mentally impaired in one way or another... he spoke extremely slow.

SHORT VERSION (TL;DR Version)He chose his ice-cream after a while picking it, almost paid for his ice-cream while taking an age to do it before another customer I served earlier saw what was going on, felt sorry for the guy, paid for his ice-cream and gave the homeless guy the $6.20 change from the money he gave me.

Long Version (I have a lot of time of my hands and Alex's interaction with a customer is so amazingly interesting that I must read up on the details Version)

Homeless Guy: *points to the small tub display* I want that one
Me: Sure. Which ice-cream would you like with that sir?
Homeless Guy: *points to the small tub display* I want that one
Me: Yes sir. Which ice-cream would you like with that?
Homeless Guy: *points to the small tub display* I want that one
Me: Yes sir, I know you would like that size of ice-cream. Which flavour ice cream would you like to have?
Homeless Guy: *points to the small tub display* I want that one
Me: Which flavour would you like with it sir? I will put it in the small tub for you, so please select a flavour.

>> Homeless guy looks at me blankly for 10 seconds. Then he points to the green cuff of his jumper sleeve

Homeless Guy: This colour.
Me: So was that the Persian Pistachio flavour sir? It's the only green coloured ice-cream we have.
Homeless Guy: *points to his cuff again* This colour.
Me: Yes sir, the only green ice-cream we have is Pistachio. Would you like that?
Homeless Guy: No. This colour. *points to his jumper cuff again*
Me: How about you look at the ice cream we have here and choose which ice-cream you would like sir?

>> He spends the next 5-7 minutes looking at every single ice-cream in painstaking detail... or was just slow, most likely the latter. When he was done, he points to the Persian Pistachio

Homeless Guy: That one.

So I scooped the ice cream and gave it to him and told him it would be $3.80. He brings out his wallet and stares at me. I repeated the price to him and he starts rummaging through his wallet and brings out two 50c coins then looks at me. I told him there's $2.80 left to pay. He slowly brings out 20c coins one at a time, spending about 20seconds between each coin until he makes another dollar. I tell him there is still $1.80 to pay. The same thing happened this time, except with 10c coins. When he got to the last 10c, another customer came up and gave me a $10 note to pay for the ice-cream, which he gave the change to the homeless guy out of sympathy? or was it pity? Who knows... Either way, it was the last 10c. If you're gonna be all JUSTICE LEAGUE about it, at least step in early next time k thanks. Kudos to your generosity though, whoever you are.

So anyway, the rest of the Monday was pretty quiet. Then at 3.30, Hannah left to go home and Rhys, who just arrived, went to do the shopping for the store. And, as you all know Murphy's Law, that's when all the customers decided to flood in :] Yay...... So that last half hour was fun... *cough*

As for today, I didn't really do much.. Just played Mario Kart Wii for most of the day. Already unlocked a lot of stuff, for a game that I've only had for 2 days. I'm going out tomorrow though so I guess it's okay XD. Basketball tomorrow then I'm finally going to this 'Icey Ice' everyone's been talking about. Looking forward to it! With that, I will bid you adieu to enjoy my Tuesday night dose of anime :D Tonight: Watching Minami-ke

Edit: Welcome to my blogroll Jane :]

Wow, that person was very kind to have paid for the homeless man and even give the change to him. If I was that homeless guy, I would be very grateful!

Ne, Alex, if you can - make the black perhaps lighter or something. When you read the yellow on the black background and look somewhere else afterwards, all you see is black lines scanning across the screen for about five minutes x)

I see you're having fun at work, by the way x) Making lattes eh? That sounds so fun ... -drools- I have never had a latte before, believe it or not!
